The tale of the orthropaedic surgeon, who was arrested by the police on charges of shooting pornography and running a flesh trade, is now sought to be given an explosive twist by the police as they are said to have charged under the Explosive Act, reportedly with a view to preventing him for obtaining bail.

While police could not confirm if any explosive substances were siezed from the various premises of the doctor, who was running a clinic in Annanagar, it is said that he has been charged under the Exploives Act.

The case of the doctor, which broke during the last week of 2001 AD with salacious details about his alleged clandestine operations, is now turning curiouser as it is said that the police might not be able to pin him down with any serious charges, amounting to non-bailable offences, with the allegations made against him so far.

The pornographic website that the doctor, hailing from Kerala, is alleged to have hosted has been updated on 30 December when the man was in police custody, pointing to the fact that even if the accusations against him were true, the role of the doctor was only to generate software for the website.

The 42-year-old doctor, Prakash, landed in the police net after a youth from Pondicherry filed a complaint against him. The youth, who had posed for nude and pornographic pictures at a farm house of the doctor, had complained that the doctor had forced him into doing all those things and had even threatened him with a revolver when he refused to go along with him. The youth is said to have turned against the doctor after he saw his picture on the website. Subsequent investigation by the police revealed that some actresses have also posed for the doctor ' s shooting sessions on assignment. However, so far there have been no complaints from any quarters that the doctor forced anybody, other than the Pondicherry youth, who was studying at a tutorial in Chennai when he was reportedly introduced to the doctor by some of his girlfriends.
