There was every possibility of the Tamil Nadu government discontinuing the noon meal scheme once Jayalalithaa became the Chief Minister after the Assembly by-election in Andipatti, Union Environment and Forest Minister T R Baalu said today.

Addressing election campaigns in Andipatti constituency, he claimed that the government would once again hike bus fares and cancel all free schemes.

He promised to look into the problems of landless farmers who were cultivating forest land at Valparai.
